Get a mentor
Participating in the Phi Kappa Tau - Old Dominion Mentorship Program will provide you with an immense amount of opportunities to:
Learn from alumni that are in similar career paths to yours and can help guide you into that career.
Network with professionals in your field of interest and learn skills to make the most of your professional opportunities.
You can achieve: an internship offer, a job offer, acceptance to a graduate program, an expanded network, or identify the right degree path for yourself.
STEPS - WHAT TO EXPECT
Complete an application form, that gives us an idea of your academic and professional experience.
Attend the first workshop on how to prepare for meeting your mentor.
Introduce yourself to your mentor via email with tools provided by the Ambition In Motion.
Make the first call within 2 weeks after making the introduction. Schedule at least 2 more follow-up calls over the course of the semester.
Attend the second workshop online covering questions to ask and topics to discuss with your mentor.
Meet with your Brand Ambassador at least 3 times over the course of the semester to share your progress and feedback for the mentorship program.
Attend the third and fourth workshops online on how to expand your network through your mentor and how to prepare for professional opportunities.
Complete the post-program assessment at the end of the semester to offer feedback for the program.
